MASH, Hepburn and Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy

MASH – the campaign for More Australian Solar Homes – is a highly successful community solar bulk-buy for homes and businesses in Central Victoria managed by the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance. Over 850 households in the City of Greater Bendigo, Mount Alexander, Macedon Ranges and Hepburn Shires  – plus a growing number of businesses, schools and other organisations – have gone solar with MASH since we started installations in September 2014.

MASH helps make solar simple

The MASH and Hepburn bulk-buy offers high quality solar PV systems and batteries, backed by solid warranties and installed according to best practice industry standards. It also provides great value, with lower prices negotiated as part of the bulk-buy. What’s more, there’s a ‘give back’ to the community in the form of free solar for a community group, kinder or school in the region – typically around 5kW for each 100 solar rooftops installed. In fact, right now we’re looking to donate just over $7,000 in free solar – click here to learn more!

MASH: Benefits to residents, communities and the environment

Since September 2014, when MASH started installations, we have achieved:
  • Over 850 new solar rooftops
  • 3.3MW of installed solar power capacity
  • $640,000 per year off residents’ electricity bills (approx)
  • 4,700 tonnes CO2 emissions cut annually (equivalent to around 940 cars off the road)
  • Six free solar systems (over 20kW) donated to schools and buildings used by community groups
  • High levels of customer satisfaction.

The Hepburn Solar Bulk-Buy is a community solar bulk-buy that aims to make it easier for households and businesses in the Hepburn Shire to go solar – and add batteries – with an option they can trust. Local community groups stand to benefit too, as the project aims to donate up to $20,000 in free solar should the target of 200 new solar rooftops be achieved by the end of 2018. Want to know more?
